I'm highly suggesting to listen this while reading. I listened it over and over again while drawing this - and it fits perfectly to the mood I was looking for.

So...it took me six days to draw this thing. The battle you all have probably waited so eagerly. And I know that you'll be most probably really disappointed how this came out.
Four months after battling Blue...I finally challenged Red. You know already that month after battling Blue I really did nothing, but after catching Edmund, the intense training started. I rebattled all gym leaders over and over again, avoided deaths and killed every wild Pokémon in Mt. Silver I came across. My goal was to reach the same level as Red's Pikachu, that goddamn level 88 monster. It had been a while since I had battled Red in my HeartGold...
Finally, after three months of training, the whole team was at that level, and I challenged Red. At first I was pretty damn nervous. The battle unfolded...and after seeing that Red's team was actually more level 80 than closer to 90's...you can guess the rest.

The battles went pretty much like this, only the battles against the starters are shortened (those things just refused to go down easily).
